Throwing Stones

Skipping Stones

When I was little … ok even today, I enjoy skipping stones into a pool of still water. I loved seeing how many times I could get the stone to skip over the water. For those of you who share this past time, you will understand that it is important to choose the correct stone to get the best results. I think my personal best was 12 skips.

But something happens …
Skipping Stones

When I was little … ok even today, I enjoy skipping stones into a pool of still water. I loved seeing how many times I could get the stone to skip over the water. For those of you who share this past time, you will understand that it is important to choose the correct stone to get the best results. I think my personal best was 12 skips.

But something happens when the stone finally rests into the water on the last skip. It makes a splash … and what radiates from that splash are concentric ever widening circles … ripples. I liken what God has called me to and our ministry to is to share the Gospel like the pebble creates the ever widening circles. We believe that we do not have the right to preach to others just because of where we were born, our positions, or even the color of our skin. We believe that one has to earn the right to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ - by coming alongside people where they are. We have found that in order to touch someones heart, sometimes you have to go through their stomachs, through their need for water, shelter, or other physical needs. So we intentionally have a ministry where we meet peoples physical needs and hopefully that "stone" will create a ripple effect that reaches their hearts. Webster's dictionary defines a Ripple Effect as - : a spreading, pervasive, and usually unintentional effect or influence. Webster to the best of my knowledge never was in ministry … what we try to do is intentional.

So here we will try to be intentional as well - to share the stories of the stones and the ripple effects of what we do. We hope that your hearts will be touched by the stories ahead.
